Andy Murray has accepted a wildcard into next month’s Shanghai Masters.
Murray had already pencilled in back-to-back appearances at the Zhuhai Championships and China Open.
But he has now added the Shanghai Masters, where he has won three times, to this schedule.
The eighth Masters 1000 event takes place from October 5 to 13 and is part of the autumn Asia swing on the ATP tour.
“I’m pleased to announce that this year I’ll be heading back to Shanghai,” he wrote on Facebook.
“I have always enjoyed the city and have had some great success at the tournament over the years, I can’t wait to get back out there.
“Thanks to the tournament for the wild card, it’s great to be able to continue my comeback and play more tennis in China.”
Murray underwent hip surgery in January and started playing doubles in June to rebuild his fitness.
He made his return to singles action at the Cincinnati Masters last month but was beaten in the first round by Frenchman Richard Gasquet.
He then entered the Winston Salem Open and he lost to American Tennys Sandgren.
Murray got three matches under his belt at the Rafa Nadal Open in Mallorca before suffering defeat to Italian Matteo Viola.
Tournament director Lv Huayong said, “Andy has had a brilliant record in Shanghai.
“He is very popular among fans. I am very happy that he can return to the Shanghai Rolex Masters.
“Recently, Andy has experienced many injuries and tests. It is a blessing for everyone in the tennis world to see him return to the game and play his favourite tennis game.”
