CALL OF DUTY MODERN WARFARE – UPDATE ONE: COD fans who were left hoping today’s server maintenance was for Warzone are set to be disappointed.

The Call of Duty Modern Warfare server maintenance came ahead of a Valentine’s Day playlist update.

The playlist changes for Call of Duty Modern Warfare were announced by the Infinity Ward Twitter account.

The devs tweeted: “Playlist update! We hope you have a Happy Valentine’s Day and enjoy some 2XP and 2X Weapon XP on various playlists! #ModernWarfare”.

Independent outage monitor Down Detector has received a spike in Call of Duty Modern Warfare down reports.

While players have reported getting Call of Duty Modern Warfare server maintenance and queue errors when trying to login to COD today.

Down Detector stats say the majority of Call of Duty Modern Warfare errors players are experiencing today revolve around server connection.

The site’s outage map adds that the Call of Duty Modern Warfare server issues are mainly affecting users in the UK, Europe and US.

As the Call of Duty Modern Warfare servers went down COD fans took to Twitter to speculate what the server maintenance could be for.

One tweeted: “Modern Warfare servers are undergoing maintenance, I wonder what for?”

Another posted: “Maintenance today on servers. They releasing Warzone or what”.

One added: “Modern warfare servers are undergoing maintenance right now.”

And another wrote: “Call of duty Warzone?!?!?!”
