Lewis Hamilton success questioned as Flavio Briatore makes Michael Schumacher comparison | F1 | Sport

Asked if Red Bull’s Verstappen or Ferrari’s Leclerc being able to better contend would be a problem for Hamilton, Briatore admitted pressure affects every driver.

“It is the same for everybody,” Briatore said. “When Schumacher, somebody [got] close, he put a mistake, Fernando [Alonso] he put a mistake. Everybody put the mistake.

“If he’s driving like a taxi driver and is winning everything it’s because he’s a super driver, it’s fantastic. Hamilton… there are only two stars in Formula 1: it’s Hamilton and Verstappen.”

Hamilton was meant to start his sixth F1 title defence in Australia earlier this month but the coronavirus pandemic has seen the first eight races of the season called off.

The Melbourne meet, as well as trips to China and Monaco, have been cancelled, while the Bahrain, Vietnam, Dutch, Spanish and Azerbaijan Grands Prix are currently postponed.
