Shurgging off the seriousness of coroanvirus, the US President tweeted: “Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it dominate your life We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs and knowledge.”

As the US president declares the illness is “nothing to be worried about ” the country is currently reporting 43,409 new infections on average each day.

This is 65 percent of the US coronavirus peak reported on July 22.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 7,442,663 infections and 209,843 coronavirus-related deaths.

Donald Trump tweeted: “I will be leaving the great Walter Reed Medical Center today at 6.30 pm.

The Nasdaq composite  stock market index jumps 200 points on news that President Trump was released from hospital.

“Feeling really good!”

Economist Linda Yueh tweeted: “Trump’s physician was due to provide an update on the president’s condition in the 3 pm ET hourr.”

Mr Trump will be released from hospital on a cocktail of experimental medications.

On Saturday Mr Trump received a steroid called dexamethasone that is being used as an anti-inflammatory.

Another experimental dose of drugs that he is on is monoclonal antibody cocktail.

This cocktail includes antiviral drug remdesivir.

NPR science correspondent Joe Palca said that sometimes patients can feel better during coronavirus treatment, but can suddenly crash ten days later.

He said the president needs “to be careful”.
